On a most gorgeous sunny late February afternoon, I drove out to the stunning 18th century country mansion nestled in the Warwickshire countryside for my first Compton Verney wedding photography experience. This was actually my first wedding of the year and what a launch it was!
Roxy & Dan chose Compton Verney for its setting and the incredibly beautiful palladian style chapel where their ceremony took place. They wanted a classically elegant wedding but at the same time intimate and relaxed. Surrounded by 17 of their closest family members, the sun seemed to be celebrating with them. It shone brighter than it had all year, and by the time the ceremony began, the sky was a perfect azure blue.

It showcases the golden age of Neopolitan Art with paintings, sculptures, furniture and art crafted in the Italian city of Naples between 1600-1800.
Roxy & Dan wanted the Naples Gallery to be a focal point of their wedding photography. Perhaps it was the romance of the Italian Renaissance art, the graceful cream marble sculptures set against deep royal blue walls, or the delicate orange blossom-adorned circular stand upon which the statues elegantly rest. The resulting photographs were nothing short of breathtaking, with the timeless beauty of the gallery providing the perfect backdrop for a couple truly in love.

The original paintings in the Naples Gallery are protected from harsh sunlight by sheer blinds, casting a soft, diffused glow throughout the room. It felt as though Roxy & Dan had been transported back to Naples, where the scent of orange blossom lingers in the air and the distant silhouette of Vesuvius smoulders on the horizon.
As they focused on each other I captured their wedding day story - one framed by the romance that Naples embodies.
