Top 5 Leicestershire Wedding Venues
Being based in the county, I've lots of experience when it comes to Leicestershire wedding venues. Whether you've got something in mind or haven't a clue, there are so many venues near Leicester to choose from. To help in your quest, here's my top 5 favourite! Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.
Kilworth House Lutterworth
This Lutterworth wedding venue is a 4-star luxury experience, where at times you'll feel transported back to the Regency era, starring in your very own Pride & Prejudice movie! Set in 38 acres of rolling parkland this gorgeous country house has its own theatre and the Victorian orangery (featured image) is just spectacular.
The grounds are the perfect backdrop for wedding celebrations and of course, the photographs. The staff at Kilworth House are incredibly warm, welcoming and friendly which makes a huge difference to your overall experience and that of your guests too!
The Belmont Hotel Leicester
The iconic Belmont Hotel is situated alongside the picturesque and historic New Walk in the centre of Leicester. This 4-star boutique hotel was built in 1861, made into a hotel in 1934 and despite its location on De Montfort Street being just off the bustling London Road, the back drop is leafy and quiet. According to the Leicester Mercury 'New Walk is a feature unique to Leicester - there's nothing like it anywhere else in the country – and it remains a tranquil and attractive route in and out of the city centre.' Perfect for weddings.
As guests leave the ceremony room and spill out onto New Walk for photographs, there's an elegant garden, The Oval, with ornate railings just beyond the path. New Walk makes for a killer confetti shot and the area lends itself to some incredibly classical photographs.
I've done a number of weddings here. It's iconic, unique and memorable. The staff are incredibly helpful, super friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
Mythe Barn Leicestershire
Set in the idyllic village of Sheepy Magna, Mythe Barn is an award winning, rustic and contemporary wedding venue. Of all the Leicestershire wedding venues, Mythe Barn is a purpose-built premier wedding venue. Set amidst acres of beautiful countryside, surrounded by meadows and rivers, Mythe Barn is a special place to host your wedding. There's an abundance of space and the light that flows through is incredible.
What I love about Mythe Barn is that it was built with weddings in mind. It's an intimate space that just flows and from a photography perspective, the light is something else.
Hothorpe Hall Theddingworth
If you're looking around wedding venues Market Harborough, then Hothorpe Hall should definitely be at the top of your list. There's two beautiful - and quite different - venues in one. The Woodlands at Hothorpe is a charming, rustic wedding venue surrounded by an enchanted forest. The bride and groom get to sleep in the luxury tree house while guests can stay in the shepherd hut/cabin style accommodation around the main building. There are options for your ceremony, and I love the indoor, outdoor space and the way it flows. The outdoor and indoor almost become one.
Hothorpe Hall is a secluded Georgian manor house offering spectacular views across its beautiful country estate. Only offering a handful of exclusive use weddings a year, it is truly a luxury and bespoke wedding venue. Steeped in rich history this elegant and picture-perfect former home has been designed to blend modern, sleek style with Georgian grandeur.
I've photographed weddings at both venues. I love the outdoor ceremony space at The Woodlands. Guests wind their way down through the trees with twinkling lights set either side of the wooden benches to watch the happy couple say I do under the canopy of the surrounding forest.
Within the grounds of the main Hothorpe Hall, there is a stunning Baroque style chapel that is definitely worth a visit when you go.
Keythorpe Manor Leicestershire
Keythorpe Manor is a multi award-winning secluded countryside wedding venue. Offering a complete bespoke experience tailored to the wedding of your dreams, its luxurious, elegant and memorable. From arriving in a horse drawn carriage to flying in on helicopter, nothing is off the table.
If you are looking for Asian wedding venues Leicestershire, Keythorpe Manor is a popular choice because it can host up to 500 guests. The team also understands Asian faiths and nuptial customs. Having photographed a number of Muslim weddings, I can understand the need for sensitivity around faith and customs.
When planning a wedding, I know many Asian families will opt for looking at venue hire Leicestershire because there is always a struggle to find a venue that can host a few hundred guests and offer varied catering options. Keythorpe Manor is one of the few Leicestershire wedding venues that meets these requirements.
To sum up Leicestershire wedding venues
Leicestershire has it all. Beautiful, breathtaking British countryside at its best and a bustling, vibrant city with some hidden gems like The Belmont Hotel that sits alongside the rare and unruffled New Walk. Take your time and enjoy the process of looking around the wedding venues. Why not plan a month where you book to see a couple each week, have a drink, lunch and generally just immerse yourself in the space you are visiting. One will resonate.
