17 Jun Stapleford Park Wedding
I love weddings set in beautiful country houses, they make the perfect setting. The Stapleford Park wedding of Yvette and James took place at the glorious country house, just outside Melton Mowbray. I joined photographer Andrew Cooper who took charge of the groom and his men before the ceremony. I was assigned to the bridal suite. Timing was running somewhat tight as we neared the time for the bride to see the registrar. Getting the photos I wanted was down to the wire. Fortunately, one of the shots I planned meant the bridal party being in their dressing gowns. We were able to shoot that one as they were getting ready. One of my other shoot ideas was for Yvette to be in front of a window looking out. Fortunately, the bridal suite didn’t disappoint. The main window was perfect, with little clutter around it, making it easier to create what I was looking for. This is by far my favourite photograph of the day.
The orangery was an intimate setting with delicate pink rose petals scattered down the white marbled aisle. Doors and windows to the front aspect and a huge dome glass roof gave way to beautiful light streaming in on the couple as they exchanged vows. Country houses always have such stunning gardens. Not quite a photographer’s dream, the sun danced in and out while everyone enjoyed drinks on the lawn. The kids played happily in the snow white bouncy castle.
Congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Taylor…
