03 Sep Fashion Street Style
I entered a fashion street style photography competition a couple of months ago…really for me an excuse to go into town and take some urban street photography. The competition was for Next and the brief was that the models had to wear an item of Next clothing…
My fashion street style photography included models, Bekki and Claire. Bekki’s look was more glamorous with her own white jeans and heels with a gorgeous summery Next top.
Claire went for a more sporty/casual look dressed up with her own heels, top and jacket with trousers from Next.
We wandered through the cobbled streets around Guildhall Lane and took some shots outside the Leicester Cathedral. We then walked through to St. Martins Square (a feat in itself with the heels they were wearing!) where we took some some shots around the stores there. We finished up around Grey Friars. With such old streets it was a real contrast to the modern and contemporary look of the clothing.
This was my first real experience of fashion street style photography and I had to look it up before we headed out to get a feel of what it is about…truly just fashion in the streets. I had done my research on the judges too, just to get a feel for what they would be looking for…they were the fashion and lifestyle influencer Emma Hill of EJ Style and then NYC’s most famous street style photographer, Phil Oh – really loved his work.
The girls turned some heads while we were shooting through the streets and we had a great time…the photos turned out great and we were all so pleased with them.
